The Process

Original PhotoAppropriation Task

Above is the first of my two appropriation images, as well as the original image. I firstly straightened and cropped the image to remove the border of the billboard. I then added a purple effect to the image to symbolise that McDonalds is the most popular and ‘best’ fast food restaurant, as purple connotes royalty. Lastly I duplicate the logo for McDonalds and placed several of them randomly on the image, this represents how there is a McDonalds everywhere.

For my second appropriated image I took a screen grab from the BBC news website of Theresa May sitting at her desk writing the letter to trigger article 50. I then appropriated this image by making it black and white to emphasise the reality of brexit; there is no grey area the UK is leaving the EU. I also appropriated the image by adding the text “There’s No Going Back…” to the top right hand corner,  as this was main headline on many news articles on the day article 50 was triggered.
